Shear-Out Plug

Seaoil Drilling supplies Shear-Out Plugs for all sizes of Landing Nipples. The Shear Plug system is used most commonly to allow setting of hydraulic set packers. It can also be used to maintain a fluid column in the coiled tubing string as it is being run in the well. The hydrostatic pressure of the retained fluid column supports the coiled tubing against collapse when in a high-differential pressure application. Brass shear screws are added or subtracted to achieve the pump-off pressure differential in relation to column weight and bottom hole pressure of the well being completed.

Applications
1. Used to maintain a fluid column in the coiled tubing and prevent tubing collapse in wells with high-pressure differentials.
2. Allows setting of hydraulic set packers.
3. Used on horizontal wells to ensure adequate plug separation.

Features
1. Flow Port area exceeds the Seal Bore area for unrestricted flow through the Sliding Sleeve.
2. The Sliding Sleeve incorporates an equalizing position prior to the fully opened position.
3. Standard configuration is jar up to open and jar down to close using a “B” shifting tool.

4. The Sliding Sleeve is available in standard or sour service.
